COMPANY PROFILE — KRX/CO/2025
Mapping the Process. Preparing the Team.
Karex is a Kuala Lumpur-based organisation dedicated to helping senior management teams develop a working understanding of what a mergers and acquisitions process typically involves — before, during, and after a transaction is initiated.

The Karex Story
Karex was established by practitioners who had worked through multiple corporate transactions and observed a persistent gap: senior management teams, even highly capable ones, often entered an M&A process without a clear map of its structural sequence. The result was not lack of intelligence — it was lack of orientation.
The founding view was straightforward. If a senior team understands the typical shape of a transaction process — the preparation work, the information exchange requirements, the integration planning considerations, and the post-deal administration involved — they engage with their advisors more productively and navigate each stage with less disruption to their core operations.
Karex operates from Level 28, Menara 3 Petronas, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. Our programmes and consulting engagements are designed for organisations operating in the Malaysian and broader regional corporate environment.
PROGRAMME PHILOSOPHY
Our Approach
Every Karex programme is framed as informational education and operational consulting — not as regulated financial, legal, or investment advisory. This distinction matters. Participants leave with better conceptual maps and more organised internal processes. They then work with their qualified advisors from a more informed position.
The three programme formats — online course, on-site workshop, and consulting engagement — reflect the different ways senior teams absorb and apply this kind of knowledge. Some individuals benefit from a structured self-paced module sequence. Others require the dynamic of a facilitated group session. Leadership teams preparing for a specific horizon benefit from the sustained engagement of a consulting format.
All formats produce written outputs. We believe that knowledge which cannot be documented and shared within an organisation has limited operational value.

PROGRAMME STANDARDS
How We Maintain Programme Integrity
Each Karex programme is built and delivered against a set of internal standards that govern content accuracy, participant experience, and documentation quality.
Content Currency
Programme materials are reviewed on a rolling twelve-month basis against observed patterns in transaction processes and available practitioner commentary. No single module remains static across calendar years.
Regulatory Scope Clarity
All programme materials carry a clear statement of scope — educational and operational consulting only. No content is structured to constitute or imply financial, legal, or regulated advisory services.
Participant Confidentiality
Workshop and consulting participants work within a bounded group environment. Karex does not share participant or organisation details across engagements and maintains standard professional discretion.
Written Output Standards
All written deliverables — reference handbooks, reflection logs, readiness plans — follow a structured format reviewed before delivery. Outputs are produced in English and formatted for internal organisational use.
Facilitator Accountability
Workshop facilitators are drawn from the core Karex team. Engagements are not subcontracted. The same personnel responsible for curriculum design lead the delivery of each programme.
Data Handling
Participant and organisational data collected through enquiry and engagement processes is handled in accordance with Malaysian data protection standards and is used solely to administer the relevant programme.
PROGRAMME CONTEXT
Senior Teams and the M&A Process Landscape in Malaysia
Malaysia's corporate transaction environment has grown in structural complexity over the past decade. Cross-border acquisitions, domestic consolidations, and strategic divestitures each follow broadly recognisable process patterns — preparation and mandate, information disclosure structures, valuation and structuring discussions, integration planning work, and post-completion administration. Senior managers and finance personnel who understand the general shape of this process are better positioned to contribute to their organisation's decision-making and advisor engagement.
Karex programmes are built around the recognition that process familiarity and operational readiness are distinct from transaction execution. Understanding the typical sequence of an M&A process does not require engaging a financial advisor, a legal team, or a corporate finance firm. It requires a structured educational framework and the internal operational work that allows a senior team to act as an informed counterpart when the time comes.
The Karex online course, workshop, and consulting engagement formats serve different organisational needs and team sizes. Finance directors preparing their teams for a possible horizon, chief executives who have recently taken on strategic oversight, and corporate development personnel who need a comprehensive orientation framework each find different programme formats most relevant to their situation.
Operating from KLCC, Karex maintains awareness of both Malaysian regulatory structures and the regional corporate environment across Southeast Asia. Programme content is calibrated accordingly, drawing on common process patterns observed across both domestic and cross-border transaction contexts within the region.
