1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the site remember things about your visit — such as whether you have previously accepted cookies, or what settings you have chosen. Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide useful information to website owners.
Cookies cannot run programs, carry viruses, or access your computer's files. They contain only small pieces of text data that your browser sends back to the website on each visit.
You are in control. This page explains exactly which cookies we use and lets you choose which optional categories to allow. You can change your preferences at any time using the controls in Section 5.
2. Cookie Types We Use
Essential cookies Always active
These cookies are required for the website to function. They enable core features such as page navigation, security, and your cookie consent record. They cannot be disabled.
- cookieConsent — stores your cookie preferences so you are not asked again on each visit (localStorage, persistent)
- Session security tokens used by the hosting infrastructure
Analytics cookies Optional
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Karex website, so we can improve the content and structure. Data collected is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
- Page view counts and session duration
- Entry and exit pages
- Approximate geographic region (country level)
Marketing cookies Optional
These cookies may be set by advertising platforms to track the effectiveness of any marketing campaigns we run. If you disable these, advertising shown to you may be less relevant to your interests.
- Conversion tracking from Google Ads or Bing Ads (if active)
- Facebook Pixel event tracking (if active)
Preference cookies Optional
These cookies remember choices you make on the website, such as your preferred language or region, so your next visit starts with those settings in place.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Karex website may be set by third-party services we use. These third parties have their own privacy policies and may combine information collected on our site with data from other sources.
- Google Analytics — aggregated usage data; governed by Google's privacy policy
- Google Ads / Bing Ads — conversion tracking where active; governed by the respective platform's policy
- Facebook Pixel — event tracking where active; governed by Meta's data policy
Third-party cookies are only set if you have enabled the relevant category (Analytics or Marketing) in Section 5. Disabling those categories will prevent those third-party cookies from being placed.
4. Cookie Duration
Cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period).
- Session cookies — exist only while your browser is open; deleted automatically when the browser is closed
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period; the cookieConsent preference record stored by Karex is a localStorage item with no fixed expiry — you can clear it at any time
- Google Analytics persistent cookies typically expire after 2 years from last activity
- Facebook Pixel cookies typically expire after 90 days
5. Your Cookie Preferences
Use the controls below to choose which cookie categories you allow. Essential cookies cannot be disabled. Your preferences are saved to your browser's localStorage and will be applied across the Karex website.
